The Opportunity:

We currently have opportunities within our 0 – 3 program, for enthusiastic educators looking to progress further in their career. This role is for 10 hours a week with availability for additional hours. We’re looking for qualified educators with a minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services who will ignite the flame of learning and nurture our children’s natural curiosity of the world around them, instilling a passion of continuous growth and development that lasts a lifetime.  

About You
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator with a minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services. A reputable Montessori Diploma or Montessori Orientation Certificate is desirable, however the School would be very happy to support Montessori studies and learning. Applicants must be committed to inclusive learning practices, be a team-player and love working with curious and engaging children! 

Selection Criteria:  

  • Have a passion for Montessori education and a strong desire to work within a collaborative, authentic Montessori environment; 
  • Support the child in their development by working alongside them and their family, using effective communication and understanding;
  • Develop strong, nurturing relationships with the children based on respect and trust;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ISMS will also keenly consider applications with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, willing to work in a support role, in order to begin a pathway to Montessori training with potential sponsorship for study. Candidates may otherwise be supported to undertake the Montessori Orientation Certificate (0 – 3 years).

Essential criteria:

  • Certificate III in Children’s Services;
  • Ability to obtain a WWCC (Working With Children Check);
  • A relevant First Aid Certificate and Child Protection training, as approved by ACECQA, or willingness to obtain;
  • You must have full Australian working rights, with no restrictions;
  • COVID-19 Australian recognised double vaccination certificate.

Salary is determined in accordance with the Independent Schools NSW/ACT Standards Model (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2017.
