Athletics Carnival

After missing a couple years due to COVID-19, we were excitedly back at King George Park for the annual Athletics Carnival! More than just athletics, we hosted mini soccer, knock-it-off, volleyball, kingball, tug-of-war and egg and spoon race to go with the 100m sprint, shot put, javelin, water hurdles, long jump and a 50m relay. The day was filled with non-stop fun for everyone!

It was a cool overcast day with a few drops of rain but this weather did not stop the children from having a great time in the open space as they rotated through each activity at 25 minutes intervals. There were so many smiles and laughter heard by all. The day ended with a tug-of-war between the classes with lots of cheering. Understandably, at the end of this exciting day, there were many tired children who reportedly went straight to bed when they arrived home, content and worn out!

Parent volunteers made this day possible by running each activity as experts. As new classes came through they explained the rules and kept activities moving.  A huge thank you to everyone who assisted on the day.

We have already booked the park for the next Athletics Carnival and look forward to another fun-filled day in 2023.
