The service acts as a consultation process reflecting the needs of the respective families each term.
Babies don’t arrive with a guide book and many new parents today don’t have a ‘village’ around them to help guide them along this new journey. Even with the support of family and friends becoming a new parent or even a second time parent can be a steep learning curve.
The Curriculum
What we hope to provide in this service is some guidance and information for parents/carers to find what fits their family best. We aim to bring together like-minded families to start building the village that it takes to raise a child.
The curriculum includes:
- Introduction to Montessori
- Preparing the environment
- The first two months of life
- Physical care
- Movement
- Developing communication
- Development of senses
- Attachment and values of separation
- Importance of the second parent
- Preparation of the adult
- Developmentally appropriate equipment and materials
